It's the end of the week, and here are my favorite reads from the past week:1. Christian Life/Growth: An article by Jerry Bridges on Gospel-Driven Sanctification (HT: Justin Taylor).
2. Fellowship: Dan Edelen on Being the Body: How to Forge Real Community.
3: Christian Life/Growth: Josh Harris quotes Jerry Bridges who quotes Horatius Bonar in Change Happens Because of the Gospel.
4. Culture: Travis McSherley at The Point writes about NBC's new drama Heroes in Here They Come to Save the Day.
5. Bible: Jim Hamilton posted his article from Westminster Theological Journal, "The Messianic Music of the Song of Songs: A Non-Allegorical Interpretation."
Update to my blogroll: The deal is that if someone links to me, I try to link back to them. And since I have capped my blogroll at 100, adding someone is supposed to mean removing someone else who is currently on the list. But today I'm adding a blog without taking anyone off:
I found out this week that someone in Germany has linked to me. The blog is called Blawg and Order. It's great to have this international connection. And a bit intriguing. The blog is in German and I don't know German. Even a page translator isn't much help. But I've figured out that there are a few posts on Intelligent Design. Not sure if they're pro or con. I believe the owner of the blog is a law student, and I think that most of the links are to other law blogs. Even more intriguing: One of the few other English links on the blog is to an atheist's site. Anyway, I'm adding Blawg and Order to my blogroll. But since I can't read it, I'm not going to remove a blog from my list (since the intent of the 100 cap was to keep my reading manageable).
