Whether it is our own struggle with lust or helping a friend who confides in us (perhaps in an accountability group), I would recommend Josh Harris' book Sex Is Not the Problem (Lust Is). In addition, he has some good material on his blog dealing with the issue of lust. For example, he posts an article by Alan P. Medinger called Grateful Heart: An Antidote to Lust.
Harris has also posted some "tips" from his book on resisting internet pornography.
- Fighting Internet Porn
- Purity Download: Tip 2
- Purity Download: Tip 3
- Purity Download: Tip 4
- Purity Download: Tip 5
- Purity Download: Tip 6 & 7

Wayne,
Thanks for the resources, they have been great. Im not sure if you ever give a list of recommended resources, I know you do throughout your blogs, but for someone who wanted to get an overview of Biblical Counseling and a basic philosophy.
I appreciate your studies and passing along the information.
I recently picked up the Journal of Biblical Counseling on CD Rom, what an excellent resource, I haven't had time to view how many articles, but the ones I have looked at are great!
I hope all is well with your church, I'll give you the American "Happy Thanksgiving"; which I am thankful for your resources and studies. Keep it up, it is most beneficial!

Jason,
The primary resource I've used in terms of a philosophy of counseling is Jay Adams' The Christian Counselor's Manual. But that's a bit old now, and I'm sure Powlison or someone like that has something newer.
Not much of a list. I'll give it some thought and if I come up with a real list, maybe I'll do a post.
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. Enjoy the turkey!
