A digression from this month's topic.
I commented on Josh Harris' blog that we have too much talk about the Da Vinci Code. Is that just a feeling or is it based on reality? So here's a little experiment. I'm going to link to every website I can find about DVC over the next week. Criterion: If it's a blog, it can't be just a one-time post - unless there are significant links to other resources; if it's a website, it can't be just one article. Care to guess how many I find?

I'm starting to think I could hit 100. You can help: send me your links.
Wayne,
Did you cover all my links on this post yet?
LinksLinks
Thanks for putting #63 on your list. Is there a chance of moving up on your number board?
Paul,
Thanks for the chuckle. I hadn't thought of ranking the list. I just added them as I found them. But what an interesting idea ... kind of like a TOP 100 countdown.
But just because you asked, I'm making you number 1 for a day - Thursday, May 11 :-)
I'll have to go back and work through your links, to see if I have them. My criterion (not just one post or article - unless there are many links like yours) means most of the messages in your post don't get a separate listing here.
Paul,
I just noticed that your links post was different from your sermons post on DVC. Thanks. I added a few links from it.
Wayne,
I noticed 5 plus new articles a day appearing on my bloglines from different folk. Do you want me to pass them on to you when I see them?
Paul,
Thanks - if it's a resource post or series. I'm not linking to just one time posts.
In blogsearching and googling this thing, just when I think, "surely, there can't be more stuff on this ..." I get four or five sites.
I said I would do this for a week - so time's up (though the collector side of me wants to continue hunting).
Of the 94 sites, more than half (50+) have to do with debunking DVC. That doesn't include the blogs on my list.
Ah! Go for 100! Here's 96... I couldn't find it in your list. http://www.davincipetition.com/
What about spoofs? #97 http://www.thenormanrockwellcode.com/
Thanks, Tim. Funny spoof. Here's a satire piece (but doesn't fit my criterion for inclusion on the list): "God Sues "Da Vinci Code" Author for Plagiarism"
About going for 100. Here's #98. Virtual Reality Christianity, parts 1, 2, 3 at Miscellanies on the Gospel (http://mymiscellanies.blogspot.com).
#99. Kairos Journal has available for public reading their four-part "Response to the Da Vinci Code" (http://www.kairosjournal.org/). On their site, click on "Church" and then "The Church's Prophetic Voice."
#100. Bloggers Blog: Blogging The Da Vinci Code (www.http://www.bloggersblog.com)
Hello!
We came across your blog and thought you might be interested in some news. The documentary, Secrets of the Code is being released on DVD tomorrow!
Narrated by Susan Sarandon, the film is based upon Dan Burnstein’s book of the same title. This book concerns another novel to which you might be familiar; The Da Vinci Code, and the phenomenon it sparked world-wide.
For more information you can visit Dan Burnstein’s official website www.secretsofthecode.com.
There is also a myspace at
www.myspace.com/secretsofthecode, where we are starting up interesting discussions in regards to the film.
“New York Times best-selling author Dan Burstein and Academy Award nominated documentary filmmaker Jonathan Stack have teamed up to create a fascinating, provocative, and emotionally gripping feature-length documentary based on Burstein’s Secrets of the Code (six months on the New York Times bestseller list; over two million sold worldwide). Narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, this film takes viewers on a journey at once sacred and profane. Secrets of the Code wrestles with the complex historical and religious issues at the heart of the novel, The Da Vinci Code, and presents these issues from many diverse perspectives. At the same time, Secrets of the Code casts a wide net, delving into universal issues about the nature of belief, faith, spirituality, and religion.
Secrets of the Code will be available on DVD at amazon.com starting June 5, 2007.”
Also attached to this email is a full copy of the press release.
If you are interested in writing a review of the film to be posted on your blog, we also have complimentary screenings available. Please contact Rita Kompelmakher for a free copy of the DVD.
Thank you for your consideration.
